Your visit will include face-to-face consultation with a board-certified maternal-fetal medicine specialist to discuss your concerns. As part of reviewing your history, our specialist may identify other areas of concern, which they will also address with you. If you’d like us to review an ultrasound exam or medical records prior to your visit, you’ll have an opportunity to upload those through our HIPAA-compliant portal ahead of time.

In today’s medical coverage environment, if you choose to see a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist, you’ll find that you often need a referral from your pregnancy provider, without much control over who you are referred to, and when you’ll see them. The visit with the subspecialist will involve taking time away from work, paying for parking, co-pays, and often you have no idea as to what the cost of the visits are as the contracted rates with your carrier are not published. In addition to the financial and logistical burdens mentioned above, you’ll often see providers order labs and ultrasound exams, which may seem excessive and unnecessary, and without much explanation behind it.

At Teleperinatal, we don’t require a referral, are available outside of traditional office hours, have transparent pricing, can review your provider’s ultrasound exam and do not need to repeat one unless necessary, and practice evidence-based medicine with labs ordered only if necessary and often follow the guidelines set forth by ACOG and SMFM in accordance with Choosing Wisely.
